Obituary of Carl Hinschberger
Carl passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Grand River Hospital, Freeport Palliative Care, on Tuesday January 10, 2023, aged 96 years, late of Luther Village on the Park.
Carl was employed as the factory manager at Uniroyal for many years as well as Beckers Lay Tech and Mitchell Plastics.
Cherished husband of Marilyn (nee Rueffer) for 67 years, devoted father of Gail Haeussler (John) of Prince George, BC, Scott (Bonnie Sue) Hinschberger and Craig (Kim) Hinschberger all of Kitchener. Papa will always be remembered by his grandchildren Eric (Kayla) Moffett, Alex Moffett, Kate Moffett, Beth (Brent) Warwick, Sarah Haeussler, Heather, Megan, and Susan Hinschberger, and Jacob Hinschberger and by his greatgrandchildren Wesley and Wren Moffett. Survived by in-laws Betty Hinschberger and Don Slimmon.
Carl was the last surviving member of his siblings Walter, Dorothy, Claude, Hilara, Albert, Genevieve, Gerald, Edward, Arthur, and Gordon. Son of the late Raymond Hinschberger and Lavina Hohl.
Carl enjoyed his time at the family cottage in Kincardine, his many trips to Florida, and shared his woodworking skills at Luther Village.
Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo from 3 – 7 p.m. on Friday January 13, 2023, and from 10 – 11 a.m. the following morning at Historic St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 137 Queen St. S., Kitchener. The Funeral Service will be at Historic St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 137 Queen Street South, Kitchener on Saturday January 14, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Dr. James Keller and Pastor Eric Moffett. Burial at Woodland Cemetery to follow.
