Lee Bryant gave me my love of Siamese cats and for this I treasure her memory and celebrate her life. Lee worked for my husband Philip (who died in August 2018) in his small accounting firm. As a recovering alcoholic, she was grateful for his trust and support. He had had cats as a child, but I had not -- only dogs. She gave us a pure-bred Siamese blue point, Nicholas, whom we had to promise to make available for breeding for five years. Nicky was handsome, sweet and affectionate. One of our four children, our second daughter, went with Phil to a pet show in Sudbury, but Nicky did not like being shown! He lived 15 or 16 years and his ashes were buried in our forest on the shores of Lake Muskoka. Since then we have had a succession of Siamese, including Oliver, a rambunctious very affectionate chocolate point abandoned by his original owner and given to us, as known lovers of Siamese ,by our vet. Oliver comforts and amuses me inmy present state of rather frail health, at 93. Lee made such wonderful use of her hard experiences to help other people struggling with similar issues. She was a remarkable woman.I am happy to honour her memory with a gift to the Scott Mission.
