Obituary of Heather Mackenzie Voith

Heather Mackenzie Voith passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2023, surrounded by family at University Gates Long Term Care, Waterloo in her 84th year. She will be deeply missed by her sister Christine Schmidt (Gary) of Waterloo, her brother R. David Mackenzie (Jane deceased) of San Antonio, Texas, nieces Kate Schooley (David) of Blair, Erica Schmidt Weller (Matt) of Kitchener, Jenny Pobanz, Janice Neville and Robert Mackenzie all of Texas, great nieces and nephews and other surviving family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Andje Zwart and parents Robert (Bob) and Doris Mackenzie.

 

 Heather was a kind, loving, and generous person born in Sarnia, ON. She later moved to Switzerland, many states in the US, returning to Ottawa before moving to Kitchener. She liked to volunteer for causes she believed in, read, paint and was an avid crafter. She worked for many years as an Administrator for the federal government in Ottawa. Heather was a proud member of the Rockway Seniors Centre where she conducted a Grief Group among other activities, a member of the Treasury Board for the City of Kitchener and held several titles at St. Andrews Anglican Church.

 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to friend Caroline and to the incredible staff at University Gates.

 

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life service at St. Andrew’s Memorial Anglican Church, 275 Mill St., Kitchener on Friday, February 10, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m.
