Obituary of Robert Wellington Hounsell

Robert Wellington Hounsell passed away peacefully in Nepean, Ontario on Monday, January 23, 2023 at the age of 88.

Bob was a gentle and precise man who wouldn’t shy away from cracking a good “Dad Joke” or correcting your grammar. He loved to read books and collect stamps, but nature was his passion. Bob was a founding President of the Field Botanists of Ontario and a proud member of the KW Field Naturalists. Even well into his later years, Bob was a dedicated Birder.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Norma Hounsell (nee Foster), sons Robert D. Hounsell (Cheryl) and Greg Hounsell (Suzette Fergusson), granddaughter Robin Hounsell, step-grandchildren Emily Bradley, Adam Bradley, and Ryan Bradley, and his brother Wallace Hounsell of Newfoundland and his family. Bob was predeceased by his sister Claire Hjalmasson (Ernie).

Cremation has taken place.  A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 17th at 2:45 pm at Parkview Cemetery, 335 University Ave, Waterloo.
