Obituary of Henry Michael Rempel

Henry Michael Rempel passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the age of 99. 

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children Alex (Patty), Allan (Linda Lang), Rick, Cindy, and Shelley Zai (John), grandchildren Robert (Lianne Schuck), Tracy Ludwig (Allan), Matthew (Stephanie), Adam (Candace), Beth Dosne (Jay), David, Hannah, Andrew Zai, and Christopher Zai (Johanna Pezo), great-grandchildren Wyatt, Jack, Lillie, Maya, Eric, Dean, Kaiden, Maverick, and Miles, and his brother John (Chris Barker). Survived by in-laws Jake Willms, Helen Rempel, and Joseph Wilhelm along with many nieces and nephews.

Henry was predeceased by his parents Henry and Mary (Letkeman), first wife Rita, second wife Irene, son James (in infancy), and his siblings Gerhard, Victor, Peter, Eleanor, and Esther. 

Henry had a deep love for his family. A quiet man, with a quick wit and dry sense of humour, he had a passion for nature, crossword puzzles, and reading.

Visitation will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, on Sunday, February 5^th from 1pm – 3pm and 6pm – 8pm. The Funeral Mass will be held in the Funeral Home’s Chapel on Monday, February 6^th at 10:30 am with Father Toby Collins officiating, and a reception to follow in the Fireside Room. A livestream of the service will be available on the funeral home’s website. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, 119 Arlington Blvd, Kitchener.
