On Sunday, February 5th, 2023 surrounded by her family, Emma left her earthly body for her heavenly home. She will be dearly missed but we rejoice that she is now with her husband Donald (predeceased 2017) and in the presence of her Lord and Saviour.
Loving mother of Cindy (Ken) Winegarden and Karen (Allan) Pike. Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to Joshua Graham; Alyssa (Adam) Vanwyck, children Hannah and Natalie; Jeffrey (Mika) Pike, children Gabriel and Eden; Jason (Bryony) Pike; and Katie Graham. Caring sister to Sidney Mogor (deceased), Violet Frise and Olga Mogor. Emma also will be remembered by Ken’s daughters, Kendal (son Griffin); Kelsey and Courtney.
The daughter of Frank and Karolina Mogor, Emma grew up in rural Saskatchewan. She came to Ontario at the age of 18 years when she accompanied her younger sister to the Ontario School for the Blind in Brantford. After moving to Toronto to attend Bible College, she met the love of her life. Don and Emma were married in 1955 and settled in Waterloo where Emma raised her family and provided administrative support to her husband’s refrigeration business. Emma loved God, loved people, and loved helping others. She was a long-time member of Kitchener Gospel Temple (now Calvary Kitchener) where she led the women’s ministry, taught Sunday School, worked in hospitality, and was a youth sponsor. Emma enjoyed the arrival of each grandchild and in her later years cherished her visits with her great-grandchildren. Over the years Emma made many dear friends and was always eager to care for others. In her final years, her warm and loving spirit endeared her to all who knew her.
Our sincere gratitude goes out to the staff at McCormick Home, London for looking after our mother with compassion and dignity.
