Loie passed away February 8, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital after a short illness with her son David at her side.

She leaves her son David, her grandchildren Andrew, Heather, and Erika who gave her much joy through the years, her brother Bill (Shirl) and her sister Laurie and their families who were always close to her heart.

Predeceased by her loving husband Richard, cherished daughter Jackie, and parents Walter and Ruth Allendorf.

Loie’s love of children made teaching a simple choice as she spent many years in a profession she found meaningful and exciting. In years past, Loie taught Sunday School, helped organize a group to aid children with special needs, taught a “special” child on a one-to-one basis, and worked as a Nurse’s Aide and Volunteer at the hospital. Loie enjoyed numerous sports, travelling, theatre, bridge, and her family and friends.

Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Loie during a Visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, February 24^th from 10am – 10:45am. Memorial Service to take place in the funeral home’s chapel at 11am. Reception to follow. A livestream of the service will be available on the funeral home’s website.
