Obituary of Ronald Bruce Vrooman
Passed away peacefully at home in Waterloo on Saturday, February 25, 2023 in his 89th year. Survived by his beloved wife Audrey and his cherished K9 companions Kiki and Joey, Ron lived a full and happy life up to his final days.
He joins his parents, Edwin Charles (Jack) Vrooman (1983) and Ellen (Nellie) Vrooman nee Derry (1990) and his precious sister Jackie Schott (Ken) (2020) in eternal life. Survived by sons Steven, Mark and Scott Vrooman and their families. Ron will be missed by his deeply loved nephews and nieces, Rick Schott (Brenda), Debbie Campbell (Jeff), Tim Schott (Trish), Kim Macdonald (Randy) and Brent Schott.
In his professional life, Ron was a long-time employee of Scotiabank. He completed his career as Manager, Speedvale and Stevenson Branch, Guelph, where his work was focused on creating specialized financing for automobile dealers and small business owners so that they could achieve their entrepreneurial dreams. In his private life, Ron was a life long sports enthusiast. A talented softball player and lawn bowler in his youth, Ron enjoyed playing golf and then watching sports of all kinds in his later years. He was a supportive partner who retired early to help Audrey achieve her career aspirations.
Despite his human frailties, those who knew Ron will remember him for his warmth and humour, as well as his unfailingly cheerful smile and gentle caring nature.
Special thanks to the Waterloo Wellington LHIN Palliative Care team headed by Martha Karn who provided all the support that made it possible for Ron to enjoy his final days at home surrounded by the love he so richly deserved.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
