Obituary of Margaret Huether

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Village of University Gates on March 11, 2023, in her 97th year.

Beloved wife of the late Ross Huether. Peggy will be dearly missed by her children Holle (Edward) Greenhalgh of Kitchener and Chris (Lee) Huether of Guelph. Grandma will also be missed by her grandchildren Tyler (Jamie) Huether and Jesseca (Tim) Wilson, Great Grandma to Leighton and Stella Huether, and Turner and Huxley Wilson. Margaret also leaves behind her aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased by her parents Percy and Adele Holle, sister Muriel Gibson and brother John Holle.

Fundamental to Peggy was her deep faith and dedication to the community. She was a long-time member of St. Louis Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s League, serving as CWL Past President together with many additional roles and participating on many committees within the faith and general communities. A Registered Nurse (RN), she was a care giver to all, graduating from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. This was her calling.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at University Gates Long Term Care for the compassion and dedication they showed to Peggy during her time in their care.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., on Wednesday March 15, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 7:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, 53 Allen St E, Waterloo, on Thursday March 16, at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home.

A private family interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery
