Obituary of Shirley Ann Kopp

March 17, 1936 to March 20, 2023

Shirley Kopp (nee Ditner) passed away peacefully at The Village of Winston Park in Kitchener on March 20, 2023 at the age of 87.

Survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Siegfried Kopp. Fondly remembered by Siegfried’s daughters, Susan (Scott) and Sharon, as well as grandchildren Katie (Mike) and Christopher (Wanda) and cherished great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister-in-law Ruth Ditner, brother-in-law Frank O’Malley, brother-in-law Eddie (Carol) Kopp and sister-in-law Linda Kopp, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.

Predeceased by her parents, Paul and Mae Ditner, siblings Don Ditner, Stan Ditner and Cleo O’Malley, sister-in-law Eleanor Ditner and nephew Shawn O’Malley. Also predeceased by parents-in-law Martin and Johanna Kopp, brothers-in-law Arnold Kopp and Fred (Ruth) Kopp and niece Cindy Diebold.

Shirley was a devoted elementary school teacher in Waterloo Region and made a difference in the lives of countless students during her 39-year teaching career.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday March 23, 2023 from 7:00 to 9:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday March 24^th at 10:00am at St. Aloysius Church, 11 Traynor Avenue, Kitchener.
