Obituary of Diane McQuay
Diane Therese McQuay, age 87, passed away March 23, 2023.
Born January 22, 1936, in the Junction area of Toronto, Ontario to the late Anita and James (Vincenzo) Giordano.
Diane met her first and only love, Gordon Donald McQuay at the age of 15 while attending York Memorial High School. They were inseparable to the end. Gordon preceded her in death in 2012. Life with Gordon was nothing short of an amazing adventure; that provided them many moves throughout Canada and the United States during their 56 beautiful years of marriage. Once returning to Canada, Diane established a very long and successful real estate career in Waterloo, Ontario, until she retired in 2015.
She was an avid and passionate reader, the most amazing cook, and a true lover of travel when the opportunity knocked. She was quick-witted and never shied away from sharing her opinion. She will be well remembered for her tenacity and her ability to overcome any adversities that came across her path.
Diane is predeceased by her husband, Gordon, and her eldest son, Gregory. She is survived by her son Scott (Donna) of Waterloo Ontario, and Heather (Brian) of Calgary, Alberta. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren along with numerous family dogs that have always been considered family.
A Celebration of Diane’s life will be held at the Fireside Reception Room of Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., on Monday April 17, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm with remarks at 2:00 pm.
A private family Interment will be held at a later date.
