Obituary of Nora Frances Kudrenecky (nee Lunn)

Passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the age of 92.

 

Nora is survived by her daughter Antoinette (John) of Connecticut, grandchildren Jake of Greenwich Connecticut, Caroline of St. Augustine Florida, and Richard and Henry of Bolivia. Sadly missed by dear sister Beverly Pope of Montreal and many dear friends in Ontario and Quebec.

 

Nora was predeceased by her husband Norman and son John.

 

Nora was born and raised in Montreal and met and married her beloved husband in Quebec. She was a graduate of Western University in London, Ontario. Nora had a very interesting career life. She started her employment with Trans Canada Airlines before moving on to the United States Navy in London, England where she was able to travel through Europe with her oldest friend Muriel. Nora then worked in the pulp and paper industry in Quebec and met Norman. She taught school in both Kingston and for the Waterloo Board of Education while raising her family. Ultimately, Nora retired from service under the Honorable Walter McLean, Member of Parliament for Waterloo.

 

Nora was actively involved in her community through the CFUW, Y, Planned Parenthood and always took special interest in women’s issues.

 

The family would like to give special thanks to dear family friend Gladys who provided daily encouragement and companionship as well as caregivers Yvonne, Flavia and Alisha who provided compassionate care.

 

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
