Obituary of LeRoy J. Braun

LeRoy J. Braun, B.Sc. M.A.Ed. of Buehler Kansas passed away with his children by his side Monday April 10, 2023, in his 87th year. He will be sadly missed by his two children Beth Putnam (Dan) of Northern Bruce Peninsula and James Braun (Elena) of Macomb MI. He will not be forgotten by his cherished grandson Brendan Putnam (Victoria), Stephanie Putnam (Jordan) and Danielle Putnam (Terrance) or his nieces Florence Leppke Funkhouser (Mark), Rosella Leppke Wiles (Lee) and nephew Ron Leppke (Pam). Predeceased by his loving wife Geraldine (2020). Lee will also be fondly remembered and missed by many extended relatives and friends.

Lee had a very fulfilling career as a teacher and medical technologist. Lee had lots of hobbies including tennis, stamp-collecting, photography, camping, flying (had his pilot’s license), reading and was an avid golfer. Lee also had a lifelong love of music. He played and sang in several musical groups over the years including the KW philharmonic choir.

Lee had a full life but always found time to serve his community and help people in need. He was the epitome of a family-man as he ALWAYS put family first. It has been said that “any man can be a father but that it takes someone special to be a dad.” Rest in peace Dad!

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday April 21, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday April 22, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with an hour of visiting prior. Burial to take place following the services at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Breslau.
