Obituary of Gavin John Curwood

Gavin John Curwood passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at the age of 44.

Gavin had many interests in life, but his top four were sports, gardening, pets, and family. He loved playing hockey, soccer, and golf, and enjoyed downhill skiing, camping, and gardening vegetables. He was an avid fan of the Edmonton Oilers (hockey), Denver Broncos (Football), the Rangers Football Club (soccer), and NASCAR. Throughout his life, Gavin travelled to Scotland, Kansas, and Mexico, but above all else, he loved spending time with his family.

Gavin will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his son Cole Pearson, brothers Dee Cobb and Jeremy Grub (Jennifer), sister Suzanne Grub, niece Braxtyn-Marie, parents Sheena Curwood and Rolfe Grub, aunt Morag Smith, cousin Peter Smith (Jenn) and their daughter November, cousin Richard Smith (Emma) and their daughter Rosie, and his pet dog Roxy.

He was predeceased by his grandparents John and Florence McCammont; and John and Cathie Curwood; Oma and Opa Grub; and his long-time pet dog Sophie.

A Celebration of Gavin’s Life will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home on Saturday, May 6^th at 11:00am, followed by a reception in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room.
