Obituary of Randy Lee Black
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in his 79th year. He will be sadly missed by his devoted mother Blanche Barker. Survived by his aunt Edna Boyd and cousins Donna Ray (Mucci), Dale Boyd, Dan Dahmer, Mark Dahmer and Rick Boyd and their spouses. Predeceased by his father Ralph Black, brother Gary Black, and step-father Ed Barker.
In his early years Randy was very active with the 11th Kitchener Scouts where he formed many lifetime friendships.
At the age of 23 he was severely injured in a tragic automobile accident leaving him disabled. Randy lived at home with his mother and step-father until 1989 when he became a resident at Participation Lodge at Holland Centre, Ontario. He enjoyed helping in the kitchen and dining room. For the last few years, he had many health issues and was confined to a wheelchair.
The lodge provided many happy years for Randy. His final hours were spent in the warm and comforting care of the special staff and residents there.
There will be a private family gathering of family and close friends to celebrate Randy’s life.
