Dear husband of the late Mary Helen (Martin) Harrigan (2018). Loving and cherished father of Sara Domingues, her husband Michael, their children Jacob and Finn, and son Daniel Harrigan. Will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Dr. Harrigan was an honored member of the University of Waterloo community. Having arrived on campus in 1969, he was an outstanding teacher, researcher and administrator. Retired in 2007, his years of teaching excellence secured him a place as one of the most revered professors in the Department of History.
He authored numerous books and articles - too many to recite here. Dr. Harrigan served in every major administrative position in the Department of History, including two terms as Chair. He will be fondly remembered as a popular professor in the Department of History by both colleagues and former students.
Patrick was born in Detroit, Michigan and was a lifetime devotee of his beloved Detroit Tigers. It was not uncommon to find him sunning on the weekend in his backyard with a good book, ice cream, surrounded by his pugs with the Tiger’s game being announced over the radio.
Patrick was a generous man who gave freely to many charities. He helped to better the lives of so many people. It gave him great joy to positively impact the lives of those around him. His love for all animals was evident, especially his many Pug dogs and current loyal companion Gus.
