It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Lucille (Albrecht) Gingrich.
She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away on Saturday May 20 after a brief stay at Grand River Hospital, surrounded by her family and exceptionally caring doctors and nurses.
Bonnie was a loving mother to Tara Gingrich (Jed McKie) of Wellington, and Jason Gingrich (Monika Vlcek) of Oxford Station, grandmother to Jack and Isla. Bonnie was predeceased by her devoted husband Jim Gingrich [2004]. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Jay, Darlene (Dwight Gingrich), Roger, Marilew (Steve Martin), Matt (Meagan Earle), and her nieces and nephews.
She was a kind and caring friend to Laverne and Ella Brubacher, Don and Barb Freeman and their families (Rachel, Joel, Kim, Lisa) and many other special people, including Ernie Black. She will also be greatly missed by her extended Albrecht, Jantzi, and Gingrich families. Bonnie was predeceased by her brother Tim Albrecht [1980], her father Harry Albrecht [2017] and mother Lucille (Jantzi) Albrecht [2022], father-in-law Ivan Gingrich [1999] and mother-in-law Matilda (Weber) Gingrich [2016].
Bonnie lived her life with joy and compassion; a vivacious, kind soul whose unconditional love brightened the lives of those around her. Her life was full of music, love, family, and friends. She enjoyed spending time at cottages, sharing meals with friends, playing scrabble and bid euchre, singing karaoke, painting and crafting, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her joy for life was contagious and she will be greatly missed.
Friends and relatives are invited to share their memories of Bonnie with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, Wednesday May 24 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The service to celebrate Bonnie’s life will take place at Erb Street Mennonite Church, 131 Erb St. W., Waterloo on Thursday May 25 at 11am.
