Obituary of Thomas Leonard De Dieu

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the age of 81 with his loving wife and best friend Helen at his side. Dear and loving father of Annette (Randy) Dietrich, Colleen (Lawrence) Kropf, and Monica (Terry) Hayes. Proud and fun-loving Papa to Samantha, Joseph (Jessica), Mac (Erica), Robert (Sarah), Sydney and Benton, and Great Grandfather to Elizabeth and Lincoln.

Lenny is predeceased by his only son John Andrew, grandson Sean Cody, and granddaughter Erin.

Lenny/Ticker, to those dear to him, was an avid sports fan. Whether cheering on his grandchildren at the sports field or arena, or at home on his sofa, everyone knew who he was cheering for.

Len was a spiritual man who was always happiest up north sharing time at the cottage with his family.

Special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses who cared for him during his courageous battle with cancer, especially Greena and Judy.

Honouring Lenny’s memory is easy, always treat others as you would like to be treated.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s RC Church, 85 Strange Street Kitchener, on Thursday May 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Francisco Cruz officiating. Immediately following the Mass, a reception will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, Fireside Reception Room, 171 King St. S., Waterloo. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
