Obituary of Bruce Osborne Greenhead

Passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023, at Grand River Hospital Freeport Campus at age 97.

Bruce will be missed by his beloved wife Doris of 23 years and her children Mary Lou Thompson and Nancy (David) Tikkanen. Bruce was a father to Diana Bradley, grandpa to Jennifer Bradley and Maeghan Russell (Rob Cliffe), Claire (Keith) Daub, Trevor Thompson, and Michael Tikkanen. Great grandpa to Hunter, Harry Melling, Amy, Benjamin Russell, Andrew, Rachel Cliffe and Owen Daub.

Predeceased by his first wife Marjorie (Nee Masters), his parents Elmore and Daisy Greenhead and his four sisters.

Bruce was born in Toronto on June 11, 1925. Bruce was proud of his military service. He joined the army at 18 and served for 3 years. He worked several jobs before making his way to Victoria BC where he worked with boats. Bruce returned home to Toronto where he met his first wife Marg. He worked as a Greenskeeper at Credit Valley Golf Course. Bruce enjoyed spending time outdoors, he loved music and could often be found singing or whistling, “Raindrops keep falling on my head” was a favourite tune.

Cremation has taken place.  A private family service will be held at a later date.
