Obituary of Martina Johanna deVeth

We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Martina ‘Tina’ Johanna deVeth on Sunday June 11, 2023, at the Sunnyside Home at the age of 96 with her loving family by her side.

Beloved wife to the late Anthony ‘Tony’ William deVeth (2005) for 59 years. Tina will be lovingly remembered by her two children Nora and Jon and greatly missed by her grandchildren Josh (Nina) deVeth, Sarah (Ben) Whaley, Adam (Dianne) Hustwitt, and Amie (Ryan) Smith. She was proudly the great grandmother to 10. Tina will be fondly missed by her surviving brother Everett Honing as well as several other extended family members and friends. She is pre-deceased by son-in-law Ronald Hustwitt and her beloved sister Loes.

Tina and Tony, also fondly known as T&T a dynamite couple, arrived to Canada from Holland in late 1947 to begin their new life with their growing family. Together they successfully established a rewarding life filled with family and friends. Tina’s warmth and maternal care for her large family permeated the personality of all those she touched and loved throughout her life.

Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will take place at a later date.
