Passed away following a lengthy illness at Palmerston and district hospital on Monday, July 3, 2023 at the age of 84 years.

Survived by his loving wife Liliane, daughter Cheryl, son Brian (Lori), eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Marilyn (John) Davison.

Basil was predeceased by his daughter Karen (1977), two sons Michael (1998) and Duane (2021) as well as a brother Ernie (Grace), his parents Baxter (Olive) Harris and his step-mother Nellie Harris.

Basil spent his working years with Uniroyal Goodrich in Kitchener. He retired after 37 years of service. Basil was an avid golfer and together with Liliane enjoyed their winters travelling. Basil liked to fashion himself as a “professional driver” and he would be the first to tell you so. 

The family extends a special thank you to all the staff of Palmerston District Hospital as well as Basil’s caregivers from Caressant Care in Harriston.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, July 21 from 10:00 am – 10:45 am.  The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room. Cremation will have taken place and a private family interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery. A livestream and recording of the funeral service will be on Basil’s tribute page at www.erbgood.com
