Passed away at The Village of Arbour Trails, Guelph, Ontario, on Monday, July 17, 2023.

Survived by her son, Stuart, and his children, Sean and Julia, of Kitchener, also by her son, Alan, and his wife, Mary, and their son, Justin, of Conestogo, and by their late son Steven’s ex-spouse, Johanne, and their son, Geoffrey, of Ottawa.

Predeceased by her loving husband of over 65 years, Gordon, by her son Steven, of Hawkesbury, Ontario, by her father and mother, Charles and Mary Fearn, both of St. Thomas, Ontario, and by her daughter-in-law, Yin Zhao, Stuart’s late wife.

Marilyn Louise Dollar was born in St. Thomas, Ontario on March 7, 1928. A gifted athlete, she excelled at sports in public and high school. Shortly after graduation she joined Bell Canada, but left Bell to marry Gordon in 1956. She didn’t return to the workforce until the early 1980s, to pursue work in the insurance industry.

Throughout their lives, Marilyn and Gordon devoted themselves to each other and to their children, through love and hard work. But in retirement, they enjoyed more time with each other, filling their days with travel, and with golf on warm summer evenings.

Marilyn’s family would like to express their deep gratitude and thanks to the staff of Arbour Trails, Guelph, Ontario. Their dedication, hard work, professionalism and cheerfulness helped make Gordon and Marilyn’s lives immeasurably more comfortable during the final years of their journey through life.
