Obituary of David Frank Pettus
Dave was larger than life!
David Frank Pettus was born on February 8th, 1945 in Toronto and passed away July 26th, 2023 at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener.
Those who knew Dave would have heard endless stories about growing up on military bases, Camp Ipperwash, living in Goderich with four younger sisters, or living and working in Toronto, London and Waterloo. He excelled in sports including hockey (Junior B Hockey with the Goderich Siftos), tennis, golf, and downhill skiing. He windsurfed, kayaked, and rode many km. on his motorcycle and road bike trips.
Dave made candy floss every Halloween for all who came to "Trick or Treat" and he invented "The West Nile Virus Cure" for his golf buddies and friends. He was deemed to be "The Dog Whisperer" to all dogs that came his way. He was an astute businessmann (co-owner of Lou's Bearings and Transmission), who made friends wherever life took him.
Above all, he loved his family, wife Linda, son Scott (Karen), daughter Dana and grandson Cooper. He taught us the importance of a good laugh and to experience life with gusto. Many loved ones already left him, and he leaves many loved ones cherishing his memory.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for Dave will take place on Sunday August 13th from 1pm to 3pm at Borealis Grille & Bar (4336 King Street East, Kitchener, ON N2P 3W6) in the School House Dining Room.
Donations in Dave's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, Grand River Hospital Foundation, or a charity of your choice and may be arranged at www.erbgood.com.
