Obituary of Calvin Lewis Mainprize

October 11, 1926 – August 4, 2023

Cal passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4th, 2023 at the age of 96. Predeceased by his first wife, Frances, and second wife, Hazel, as well as his son, William (Bill) Mainprize. Survived by his children Brenda Booth and Deanna Kean (Jon). Dear brother to Ruth Sitler, of Kitchener. Loving grandfather to Nicholas Booth (Tanya), Gregory Booth (Stephanie), Jonathan and Maggie. Devoted great-grandfather to Joshua, Alexia, Hunter, Olivia-Rose, Rilynne, Bentley, Brooklyn. Adored great-uncle to the Henderson family.  

Family was precious to Cal and his favourite memories were created at family get-togethers. He and Hazel enjoyed travelling and had many adventures in their Voyager van. For over 40 years, Cal worked for Uniroyal as Maintenance Manager where he was well known for his kindness and honesty. Cal proudly served in the Canadian army with his brothers. Cal was a devoted member of Trinity United Church and lifelong member of the Kiwanis Club.

A special thank you to the staff of Winston Park LTC for their great care and devotion.  

Visitation will be held at on Tuesday August 8, 2023 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo.  A funeral service will take place at 12:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room. Private family interment will occur at a later time.
