December 25, 1984 – July 31, 2023

We are saddened to share the death of Christopher Gordon Bowen on Monday July 31, 2023 in Alberta. Loving son of Suzanne, dear brother of Adam (Bettina) and special uncle to Arthur. Chris will be fondly remembered by many cousins and friends from Ontario and Alberta. Predeceased by his father, David Bowen.

Chris fell in love with radio and broadcasting at an early age. From ages 13 to 18, he created and co-hosted his own radio program on CKMS. Chris had a passion for Saturday Night Live and would faithfully watch the show every week. After graduating from KCI, he attended Humber College’s Radio Broadcasting program and then moved out west to start his career. For the next 17 years, Christopher was a respected producer, anchor and managing editor at CityNews. People at work appreciated his supportive and sensitive management style. Chris had a quirky sense of humour, frequently making not only his friends laugh but people who he had just met. He was well-loved by his colleagues and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 11, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo. The funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A livestream of the funeral service will be available by clicking the link above. Reception to follow.
