Rosemary passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack, at home on Monday, August 14, 2023 in her 79^th year.

Beloved wife of the late Alfred “Al” Paul (2022). Proud mother and mother-in-law of Stephen (Edie), David (Penny Stevens), Dennis (Jami), and Maryanne Paul, cherished Grandma of Nikki (Brendan), Spencer, Alex, and Simon. Rosemary will be remembered by her brothers Doug Thiel (Sue deceased), Carl Thiel (Beverley), Gord Thiel (Kirsten), Bruce Thiel (Sharon deceased), and Catherine Thiel, and many nieces and nephews.

Rosemary was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Catherine Thiel, parents-in-law Hugo and Gertrude Paul, brothers Grant (in infancy), Gerald, Bert (Jessie), Donny (Lorraine), and sister-in-law Irene Lahosky (Vic).

Rosemary had a fulfilling career with the Waterloo Catholic School Board. She held many positions, but most recently worked for the Board Office in Administration, Transportation, and Purchasing. Rosemary had a zest for life and a beautiful spirit, and enjoyed baking, dancing, any game of cards, board games, and cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. Rosemary had a huge love for her family, and was happiest spending time with family members and her large circle of friends at the cottage, in Florida, and within her community.   

Rosemary’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm, and Friday, August 18, 2023 from 9:30am – 10:45am. A Celebration of her life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 18^th at 11:00 a.m. A livestream and recording of the service will be available on the funeral home’s website. A reception in the Funeral Home’s Fireside Room will immediately follow.
