Obituary of Antonio Brescia

Antonio Brescia passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the age of 81.

Born in Italy, Tony served in the Navy as a young man and he then immigrated to Canada where he trained as an electrical technician. He loved soccer, and was an avid gardener and handyman who enjoyed home improvement projects. Tony was also a devoted life-partner, father, and uncle who enjoyed jazz concerts, great food, wine, and travel with his life-partner Lorraine.

Tony is survived by his son Steven Brescia, of whom he was deeply proud. He will be missed by his brother Gennaro Brescia (Giuseppina) of Italy, sisters-in-law Helen Stoesz, Anne Sebben (Dave), Joan Meade (James), nephews Vincent Meade (Shari), Cedric Meade (Elizabeth) and Brandon Disher (Jessica), and nieces Stacey DeSilva (Joel), Leslie Higgs (Richard), and Josette Meade, his great nieces, nephews and his extended family in Canada, the US and in Italy.

Tony was predeceased by his beloved wife Lorraine Disher (2020), parents Andrea and Maria Brescia, brothers Vincenzo (Teresa) and Pasquale, Don Disher, and his sisters Carmela and Elizabeth. 

Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2723 Victoria St. N, Breslau, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 3:00pm.
