Obituary of Elijah David DeBoer

April 23, 2000 – August 22, 2023

Beloved son of Norm and Holly DeBoer.

Protective and pesky brother to Cassidy and Chloe.

Born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo. Elijah had a love for composing music and poetry, physical fitness, and people. His gifts were many and his love infectious. He was generous with his time and money and his most recent work assignment took him outdoors to do landscaping. He also recently worked with many caring people at the Home Hardware Distribution Centre in St. Jacobs. Elijah struggled greatly in these last few years, but he is now at peace with Jesus. His favourite verses were from Romans 8:31-39 – knowing that believers are secure in Christ, and nothing can separate us from His love.

Our boy. There are no words to express the grief we feel at your passing. Thank you for giving of yourself, even when you had no more to give. We will remember the way you laughed and loved and contemplated and felt so deeply. You have touched the lives of many.

As we say good-bye to you for now, we know that this life is not the end.

We are helpless but not hopeless. Lamentations 3:22-23; 2 Corinthians 1:3-7.
