Obituary of John Schomogyi

John passed away peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital on Sunday August 27, 2023, after a long and difficult illness.

John will be dearly missed by his siblings Frank (Rita) Schomogyi and Trudy (Darryl) Boltz, his many nieces and nephews, their children his great nieces and nephews, as well as his dear friends.

John has gone to join his loving family in heaven, his wife Bernice (nee Kienapple) of 45 years, his parents Frank and Katie Schomogyi.

John worked for over 40 years at JM Schneiders until he retired. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman; he bred pigeons for several years. For as long as anyone can remember John always had a Harley Motorcycle, often being seen riding around.

A special thank you to all the care takers who have assisted John over the years.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., on Saturday September 2, 2023, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.  The Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm.

Cremation will take place and a private family interment will be held at Memory Garden’s Cemetery at a later date.
