Obituary of Richard Cousineau

Richard ‘Rick’ Cousineau of Waterloo, ended his journey with Glioblastoma, an aggressive cancerous brain tumor, the evening of Monday September 4th, 2023.  He will be deeply missed by his loving family as a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather. He amazingly defied lifespan projections, being able to share in special family occasions and many special moments with them in spite of the health limitations he dealt with, giving them the gift of precious memories.

Rick was with Wilfrid Laurier University’s Campus Police for over 42 years, including time served as a Supervisor.  He and Susan enjoyed travelling, enjoying many wonderful times away.   He enjoyed boating and the annual fishing trips with his long-term friends and Men’s Hockey for many years.   In the neighborhood he was known for his abilities as the one who could and would be willing to fix just about anything.   With hockey, his passion since he was a child, he became involved in Waterloo Minor Hockey over 40 years ago with many roles over time as a Dad and as a Grandpa, as a Volunteer, Convener and as a Coach Couz to many players from 4/5 year-old to teens.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that you consider placing a donation to the charity of choice or the Waterloo Minor Hockey Association Legacy Fund. Donations can be arranged through www.erbgood.com and may be made by cheque, cash or pledge.
