Obituary of Dorothy Butterworth

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Butterworth (nee Ford) on September 6, 2023 at Trinity Village, Kitchener following an extended illness.

Dorothy was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, but no matter which hat she wore, she was always a teacher! Everyone loved Dorothy's baking, especially those who meant the most to her and called her Grandmom or Grandma.

Dorothy loved her family, travel, sports, games, good food, a nice glass of red wine, and beautiful sunsets at the family cottage on Lake Huron. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Dave (lovingly known as "Pa" to their grandkids,) brothers Bus and Bill, and many close sisters and brothers-in-law.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff at Trinity Village and, previously at Winston Park, for the excellent care Mom/Grandma received during her final years.

In celebration of Dorothy's life, a small service will be held on October, 13, 2023 at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, ON. As per Dorothy's wishes, things are to be short and simple. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:20 am followed by a brief funeral service at 10:30 am in the chapel. Inurnment of her ashes will follow immediately afterwards at Memory Gardens.

For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed, allowing friends and family to participate remotely.
