Obituary of David Earl Wilson
David Earl Wilson of Kitchener, Ontario passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 80. David was born in Kitchener to Earl and Evelyn Wilson (nee Thorne) on August 21, 1943.
Predeceased last year by his loving wife of 52 years, Elaine Wilson. Devoted father to Tye Wilson, Daniel (Patti) Wilson and Amber (Ian) Wilson. Fondly remembered by sister Heather (late Paul) Pokora, sister-in-law, Marilyn (Glenn) Sacerty, nieces and nephews, Michael (Harmony) Pokora, Stephen (Sara) Pokora, Margie (Mark) Hughes, Tom (Lisa) Hughes, Crystal (late Richard) Sacerty-Hintz, Kelly Sacerty and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David lived in Kitchener and worked for Epton Industries (formerly BF Goodrich) up until 1995. He loved his pets and can be fondly remembered feeding peanuts to the chipmunks and watching the hummingbirds at his trailer. David enjoyed tinkering with cars, painting and body work, camping at Holiday Beach Park and fishing at Lake Nipissing. Even though recently he lived with early stages of dementia, he knew and loved his family deeply. Bailey was a wonderful fur-baby companion for him this past year.
David is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Paul Pokora, sister-in-law, Evelyn (Mickey) Hughes, parents Earl and Evelyn Wilson, and in-laws, Helen and Earl Hofstetter.
There will be a Celebration of Life for David on October 1, 2023, from 1pm-5pm at 43 Cooper Street, Ayr, Ontario. Family and friends are welcome. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the following charities that have touched David and his family’s lives: Alzheimer Society of Ontario, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and Canadian Cancer Society.
