My deepest condolences to the Deckert family on your Mom's passing. I only learned now that Helen had passed away. Every year or so Helen and I would get together for tea (she always the gracious host) and reminisce about the good old days and all the happy memories we had of times spent with the family, and of all the laughs and adventures with Clare, who had to contend with the many friends that the kids so readily made - and all the parties that Mom and Dad had to "invigilate".
Helen was a dear, thoughtful soul, who trudged all the way to Erb & Good to offer her condolences to my family on our Dad's passing.
Helen passed on a great deal of knowledge - about life, cooking, people. and faith. I'll miss the talks, the tea, and, yes, the (fully deserved) reprimands.
