Went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Saviour on Friday, September 29, 2023 in his 91st year.

Beloved husband of Lydia Lilli Unruh.  Loving father of Monica (Phil) White, Jenny (Art) Peters and Christine (Todd) Snyder. 

Loving Opa to Stephanie (Jake), Rob (Deanndra), Joshua (Jacqueline), Holly, Megan (Charles) and Cameron.  Beloved Opi to Miriam, Abigail, Alistair and Dominic. 

Dear brother to Manfred (Inge) Unruh of Curitiba Brazil.  Predeceased by his mother Katarina, his father David and stepmother Agatha.

Missed by many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.

John's family send heartfelt thanks to all staff at St Mary's Hospital (emergency, palliative and 5th floor) who cared for him so tenderly with compassion during his final days.

A Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 10:00am – 10:45am. The Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home’s Chapel at 11:00am. Interment at Parkview Cemetery.
