Obituary of William John Schedler

May 19, 1939 – October 1, 2023

William John Schedler passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023 at the age of 84. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Laverne Schedler (nee Hodgins). Predeceased by son, Scott, and parents Winifred and Lawrence Schedler, brothers Victor and Russel Schedler, and sisters Pauline, Lola, Jean and Yvonne. Loving father of Sherri (Curt) Schickler of Waterloo, Shane (Collete) Schedler of Waterloo, Kimberley (Colin) Brown of Australia, and Kelly (Todd) DeBrusk of Kitchener. Cherished grandfather of Nick, Jodi, Katie, Zak, Jade, Georgia, Emma, Eliza, Darcy and Tessa. Great grandfather of Olivia, Violet and Max.

William was a talented musician and in his early years he played bass and sang in a band called the Esquires. William was a member of the Waterloo Navy Club where he enjoyed playing pool and cards. He loved spending time outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday October 5^th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Friday October 6^th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A reception will be held in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room beginning at 1:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
