Karen, Gail & Bruce: Last week I was paging through my collection of recipes, most of them from the 80's, when I came across a recipe for Peach Pastry. A copy is pasted in my crumbling recipe book and underneath I have written, Aunt Trudy Kukor. Sometime during the 80's, when we were visiting from overseas, Aunt Gertrude had Andy & I over for lunch. I have no idea what she served as a main, but this was the dessert she served. I loved it, and so did she. I recall her telling me how easy it was to make and indeed it is. Also interesting to note is that this was the "Recipe of the Week" from the Canadian Weekly magazine which has been out of circulation for so long I couldn't even find the date on Google.
Memories of our loved ones are always very personal. Although I have many other memories of Aunt Gertrude, I wanted to share this one as I was instantly transported back to her kitchen and the lovely visit we had that day, when I came across this recipe. I can also tell you that I have never made "Peach Pastry" without thinking of her. May she rest in peace.
