Peacefully, at Sunnyside Home, on Monday October 9, 2023, aged 90 years, late of Luther Village on the Park. 

Devoted mother of Gail Haeussler (John) of Prince George, BC, Scott (Bonnie Sue) Hinschberger and Craig (Kim) Hinschberger all of Kitchener.  Grandma will always be remembered by her grandchildren Eric (Kayla) Moffett, Alex Moffett, Kate Moffett, Beth (Brent) Warwick, Sarah Haeussler, Heather, Megan, and Susan Hinschberger, and Jacob Hinschberger and by her great-grandchildren Wesley and Wren Moffett.  Survived by in-laws Betty Hinschberger and Don Slimmon. 

Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Carl in January 2023 and by her sister Jean Slimmon in 2021.  Daughter of the late William and Gerda (Wittnebel) Rueffer. 

Marilyn enjoyed her time at the family cottage in Kincardine and on her and Carl’s many trips to Florida and many other worldly destinations. 

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Sunnyside Home.  You were beyond amazing!  She was only there for a short time but the care provided was caring and exceptional.

Visitation will be held at Historic St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 137 Queen St. S., Kitchener on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Jim Keller officiating. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the service. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
