Obituary of Tingfang Chen

Tingfang Chen of Kitchener, passed away peacefully at the Grand River General Hospital in Kitchener on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the age of 89 after illness. His primary career was a high-school physics teacher in Wenzhou, China, where he taught for 41 years and held honorary titles such as Distinguished Teacher. In 1998, he moved to Kitchener to enjoy retirement.  He was the beloved husband of the late Li-Hua Dai (2019) for 59 years. He is survived by son Jeff Chen and daughter in law Linda Shen, daughter Karen Chen and son in law Hang Shi, and grandchildren Felix Chen, Jonathan Chen, and Sara Shi.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S. Waterloo on Wednesday, October 18, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.  The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel the same day at 1:30 p.m.  Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, 335 University Ave. E., Waterloo.

陈庭芳先生于2023年10月13日因病在Kitchener Grand River医院去世，享年89岁。他曾在中国温州中学任教物理41年、担任过领导职务，曾在早期获浙江省物理特级教师、专业技术拔尖人才等荣誉称号，于1998年开始在Kitchener安度晚年。他与已故戴丽华女士结婚59年。儿子陈征宇及儿媳沈璐，女儿陈红宇及女婿史杭，以及孙辈陈嘉寅、陈嘉辰、和史嘉美怀念老人。

陈庭芳先生少年时代就受洗虔诚奉主，后在活泉华人宣道会嘉年团契及荣主小组中事奉。 敬请亲友于2023年10月18日下午12:30-1:30在Waterloo, 171 King St. S, the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home瞻仰遗容。追思会将在同一地点下午1:30举行，随后葬礼在Waterloo, 335 University Ave. E. 的Parkview Cemetery举行。
