Obituary of Donald James McDonald

April 30, 1948 – October 22, 2023

Don passed away peacefully on Sunday October 22, 2023 at the age of 75. Don was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mary McDonald, loving brother Charles, and many aunts and uncles. Survived by his much-loved cousins and sister-in-law Dorothy Knipe. Greatly missed by dear friends Jeff and Kelly Poichuk.

Don grew up in Hampstead, a beautiful farming town in southwestern Ontario. His passion for farming was lifelong and he studied agriculture at the University of Guelph. Don was fortunate to have a career in a field he loved, supporting farmers as an integral part of dairy herd improvement.

Don was committed to his Karate, Tai-Chi and Kobudo classes at Classical Martial Arts, where he made long-term friendships. A selfless person, Don generously volunteered his time at the Canadian Blood Services Clinic and helped the residents of Sunnyside Home.

Friends and family are invited to attend the graveside service on Saturday October 28, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Hampstead Cemetery, Fire Number 2127 Line 47, Perth East, Perth County, Ontario, N0B 2T0.
