Obituary of Melvin Meegan Mason

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mel Mason on Friday November 3, 2023, at the age of 82. He passed away unexpectedly at Hamilton General Hospital.

Survived by his beloved wife Jackie of 62 years. Loving father of Tammy (Bob) and grandson Michael Ireland. Wonderful Brother to Ken and his family.

Predeceased by his son Steve.

Mel started working at CN Rail when he was 14 years old and worked there for 41 years. He was fortunate to retire at the age of 55. Mel and Jackie had a wonderful life together travelling. They spent winters in Arizona, Florida and enjoyed cruising.

Mel loved to golf and was happy to get in 60 games this year. He loved music and spending time with his amazing family and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Fireside Reception Room of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday November 26, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., with remarks at 2:00 p.m.
