Anna Nikolic passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the age of 85.

Anna is survived by her daughter Gina Keena (Kirby), sons David Nikolic (Rosanna) and Mark Duke, grandson Remmington Keena, and her granddaughters Jennifer Nikolic, Cristina Nikolic, and Rachel Duke.

Born to parents Sofia and Tudor in Yugoslavia on a farm, Anna grew up alongside her brother and sister. In search of a better life, she emigrated to Canada with her husband and two children in 1963. They settled in Hamilton where she had her third child, and eventually found a permanent home in Waterloo. Anna worked very hard in multiple jobs, including with the Board of Education. She was a lifelong Christian who attended church every week. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved children, animals, and gardening. She will be deeply missed by her whole family.

Special thanks to the Benton St. Baptist Church for all the support and community they have given to Anna over the years.

A private interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery, and a Memorial Service will be held at the Benton St. Baptist Church, 90 Benton St., Kitchener, on Sunday, November 12 at 2pm. A reception will follow in the church hall. A livestream of the service will be available via a link on the funeral home’s website.
