Obituary of Joanne Belinda Upfold

Joanne Belinda Upfold passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the age of 65.

Loving mother to Derek (Alicia), Benjamin, and Casey Lynn (Anthony). Cherished partner to Geoff Laking. A wonderful sister to her siblings and a caring aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many other family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Cecilia Balcarras and George Fischer, her stepfather Donald Balcarras, her sisters Adele and Debbie, and her brother David.

Joanne will be remembered for her sense of humor, being a relentlessly supportive and selfless person as the true Easterner she was, for loving her family ferociously, for bragging about her kids any chance she got, for her warmth and big hugs, her crafts and truly special singing abilities, and for never being afraid to say “I love you”.

Special thanks to her friends, especially Deb, that helped her through her cancer journey.

A Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 10am – 11:45am. The Memorial Service will follow in the funeral home’s chapel at 12pm.
