Obituary of Robert "Bob" Harry Westphal

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the age of 64.

Cherished and beloved husband of Beverly (nee Jacobi) Westphal, for 43 years.  Loving father of Mike (Sam), Ryan (Sam) and Michelle. Special Papa to Elizabeth and Aliya. Will be fondly remembered by his sister Christine (Gary) Steffler; sister-in-law Carolyn (Rick) Bridge; brothers-in-law Neil (Paula) Jacobi and Keith (Patty) Forget. He will be dearly missed by many family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Robert Sr. and Doris (nee Geisel) Westphal.

Bob was a longtime loyal employee of Loblaws (Zehrs Markets) and retired as a store manager after  38 years, serving many communities.  He was a very active member from a young age with The Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 530), Waterloo. Here he served as a branch manager until his illness.

Special thanks to staff at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre and the wonderful medical team for all their care and compassion given to us during Bob’s illness.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 530, 316 Marsland Dr, Waterloo. Cremation will have taken place and a private family interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo at a later date.
