February 1, 1930 – November 26, 2023

 

Kurt Wagner, loving husband of Anne (Loewen) for 60 years, went to his eternal home on November 26, 2023, aged 93 years.

 

He is survived by Anne and their children Donald of Charlottetown PEI, David (Carolyn) of Fredericton NB, Eunice (Alex) of Kitchener ON, and Jonathan (Krisy) of Winnipeg MB. Kurt was a cherished grandfather of Ruth (Rylan), Raelene (Josh), Jenna (Jordan), Nathan, Sophia (Cameron), Brielle (Connor), Evan (Amanda), and Justin, and great grandfather to Ezra and Josiah. Kurt is predeceased by his parents and his siblings Hilda, Edith, Ruth and Heinz.

 

Born near Parchowo Poland, Kurt and family fled to Germany during World War II. He immigrated to Canada in 1953 with no money and almost no education. He completed bachelors degrees in history and in theology. He has been a high school teacher, a nursing home administrator and owner of various businesses. He has been president of the Ontario Nursing Home Association, a board member of various para-church organizations and a frequent Sunday school teacher late into his life.

 

The family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 3 p.m.- 6 p.m. The celebration of life service will be at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 1 in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception.
