Vera retired from the bookstore at U of W. She was a longtime and faithful member of Trillium (St. John’s) Lutheran Church in Waterloo where she sang in the choir for over 35 years. Music was important to her and she played her piano well into her 90’s. Her and Eden were very involved members of the Optimist Club. She was a member of Probus and The Waterloo Horticultural Society. She took pride in her garden and there were always lovely flowers blooming in her yard. Vera had an indomitable spirit that she carried all through her life. Her mottos were “Tomorrow is Another Day” and “Never give up.”
Special thanks to her niece and nephew Matt and Michelle Esch for all their care and kindness. Thank you to all the health care workers and volunteers that helped Vera in the past year.
