Obituary of Peggy Sadowsky

In loving memory of a life well lived, Margaret (Peggy) Elenor Sadowsky (nee MacNicoll) is now reunited with her husband, Nick (d2015), whom she married in 1950.   Peggy passed away peacefully at her home on December 29, 2023.  She was an avid outdoors person, cyclist, camper, traveler of the World and canoeist with the Ancient Mariners.  Throughout her life she never forgot the honest farming values instilled by her mother and the frugality of her Scottish father.  She was always willing to lend a hand to others, especially with her many friends at Gleaners, just North of Sheffield.  Peggy easily adapted to whatever challenges fate presented.  She held several jobs throughout her life, including at Dominion Tire and Rubber during the war years, a “stay at home mother”, secretary at Harold Wagner School, a freelance typist typing PhD. papers for the early university students and ultimately the “Broommaker’s Wife of Waterloo”.  In our memories, Peggy’s light will continue to shine.

Peggy managed to beat that “big, sneaky BULLY”, Cancer, on four separate occasions.  She also recovered from a severe stroke.  Her ninth life has come to an end, succumbing to old age, two weeks shy of her 93rd Birthday.

Born January 13, 1931 in Kitchener to Joseph Greenhill MacNicoll (d1969) and Blanche Elizabeth, nee Millard (d2002), she was raised with fine rural morals and common sense.  She is survived by her older sister Marion Dawson of Brampton, her favourite son Alan (June), her favourite daughter Anne Clarke (Hugh), and her favourite Granddaughters, Carolyn and Hilary Sadowsky.

Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life is planned for family and friends at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 2 – 4 pm.  Condolences for the family and expressions of sympathy can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Ontario Christian Gleaners or a charity of your choice at www.erbgood.com
