Obituary of Anna Marie Hornburg

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the age of 59.

Anna will be deeply missed by her husband Mark Hornburg, children Erin Zlak (Matt), Stacy Merriam (Kent), and Tyler Hornburg (Danielle). Loving Panda to her 6 sweet grandbabies Harper, Emmett, Lennon, Everly, Levee, and Mason. Also survived by her father Playford Hales, siblings Janine Schill (Ed), Steve Hales (Julie), Rob Hales (Kim), Sharon Hales (Greg), and Tony Hales (Dana), parents-in-law Ron and Carol Hornburg, sisters-in-law Teri Oosterhoff (Pete) and Laurie Hornburg, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother Dolly Hales, and her brother-in-law Scott Hornburg.

Anna was always the life of the party. She loved travelling, attending concerts, and camping, but her favourite place of all was the beach.  She was strong, caring, and hardworking, and was a dedicated Canada Post employee for 30 years. Anna also had an infectious smile. Beautiful inside and out, she could take any experience and make it memorable for everyone. She profoundly loved her family and friends and cherished the memories she made with them. She also liked to meet new people, and she could talk to anyone, always leaving a mark of kindness and compassion on everyone’s heart.  

Cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St Teresa of Avila RC Church, 19 Flamingo Drive, Elmira on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 10am. A Reception will follow at the Elmira Legion Branch #469, 11 First St. E, Elmira.
