Obituary of Violet May Blake

Violet Blake, beloved mother and grandmother, cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023. She was born on May 10, 1938, in Portland, Jamaica, and was one of seven children born to her mother, Margaret.

In 1961, Violet made the courageous decision to leave Jamaica and migrate to England. It was there that she gave birth to three sons, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. In the 1970s, Violet once again embarked on a new journey and migrated to Canada, eventually settling in Kitchener, ON where she raised her son Lennox as a single mother.

Violet loved to travel and being close to the airport was ideal with a move to Brampton. She traveled the world with Lennox and met some amazing people along the way such as Nelson and Winnie Mandela and one of her favorite boxers, Muhammed Ali.

Violet was known for her kind heart, warm smile, and unwavering love for her family. She was a pillar of strength and support, always there to lend a helping hand or offer words of wisdom. Violet's nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced and cared for those around her with open arms.

Throughout her life, Violet touched the lives of many with her compassion and generosity. She will be deeply missed by her sons, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, extended family, and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

A private family funeral service will be held.  May Violet Blake rest in eternal peace, knowing that her love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
