Dear Rhonda, Stan, Jason, Marisa and Kandace,
I recognized this name and when I read the obituary, I knew why. My sincere condolences to you and your family on the death of your dad and grandfather. He was a nice man and was always pleasant during our interactions at the school. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Heartfelt condolences to the entire LaPier Family. Our family experienced firsthand the kindness and generosity of Herb. My parents Kay and Al Petersen shared several road trips together with Fran and Herb. They had wonderful adventures. The end of the summer season would begin more fond memories, at the cabins sharing laughter and fishing stories. Our sympathy goes out to Aunt Fran, Rhonda and all the grandchildren. Herb is cherished and will be missed.
Love Wendy and Alan Nicholls

Having spent many summers at Bel-Air Cottages. Herb and Fran created a culture where lifelong friendships were made and supported. Herb's boat rides were legendary and were one of the highlights of the summer. He was always there to fix something or get rid of wasps nests that seemingly appeared overnight. He was also a great friend during those summers. Even though we lost touch with Herb in the years since they sold the place, I'm not the only one from the 'Bel-Air' era who thought of him often hoping he was doing well. To Fran and his family, hopefully you know the impact he left on those he encountered, definitely grieving tonight!

We will miss you, Herb. I was very fortunate to know Herb as he was a close friend of my father. A friendship they formed via many years of working together at Electrohome. I have such great memories of our family golf trips in Niagara Falls with Herb, my father, Peter McBurney and all the sons. I am not really sure if I will remember Herb more for his golf or for always taking a group photo. He was such a great guy who put you ahead of him. My condolences to Jim, Sue and Deb and families. Still trying to figure out how the hatchet goes hand-in-hand with Atomic Energy......but, Herb was indisputably "energetic".
He will be missed by legions of Electrohome workers who knew him as a "straight shootin" friendly guy who was as at home chatting out on the assembly line as he was in the boardroom.
Hats off to you, Herb. If you see brother Pete up there, play a round of poker with him, like the old days, and say hi for me! Cheers.

Dear Frannie and all of Herb’s family, we have so many wonderful warm memories of travelling together with the Drayton Theatre group! Herb was the consummate gentleman whose company was enjoyed by all. He was also a very respected manager at Electrohome where he earned the respect of employees at the TV /Radio stations as well. Sincere condolences in the loss of a wonderful man. Neil & Helen Aitchison
