Obituary of Robert William Schumacher
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert William Schumacher on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Christel Schumacher (nee Schoenemann) of 48 years.
Rob was an amazing dad to Melissa (Corey) and Mike (Kim) and will forever be remembered as the best grandpa to Emmajayne, Kaiden, Will, and Mae. Cherished brother to Debbie and Alan (Sue), and uncle to Joe and Jim Schumacher.
Rob also will be forever remembered by his brothers and sisters in law, Monika (Ken) Kienapple, Willy (Marilyn) Schoenemann, Ruth Harris, Werner (Brenda) Schoenemann, Dave (Joy) Schoenemann as well as remembered as a great uncle to their children.
Predeceased by his parents Bill and Eva Schumacher and mother-in-law Else Schoenemann.
Rob worked as an optometrist for 38 years until he retired in 2014. He was a kind, caring, and gentle man who loved his family deeply.
He had a great passion for motorcycles, fishing, spending time at the trailer and lake - often seen with a Diet Coke in his hand - but most of all, his family was his greatest joy.
Rob will forever be missed by his family and friends, many who have known him for almost his whole life. He has many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will be saddened by his passing.
The family wishes to say a big special THANK YOU to everyone that has supported our family during this very difficult time. We greatly appreciate everyone. Words are not enough but are heartfelt and treasured.
